As a person who is curious about the world and loves travel, The GREEN Program’s trip to learn about climate finance was enriching and influential. Prior to this trip, I was not aware of how my money was actually being used or what it was being invested in. I now feel like I have a better understanding of how my investments are allocated and I want to continue to explore how I can make investments in sustainability, ecology, and renewables. I will continue to recommend The GREEN Program for anyone interested in expanding their comfort zone and learning about sustainability and renewable practices.

A month ago, I didn't know anything about finances beyond what's in my bank account and whatever magic my financial advisor conjured. In any discussions I have about the climate crisis, the overall mood tends to settle into either the apocalyptic or dejected complacency - especially in regards to capitalism.
However, my classes, discussions, site visits, and experiences in the field with the community showed me that I still have agency. It all showed me that my dollars aren't only good for my own benefit. After I finish writing this, I have a call with my financial advisor about moving a portion of my assets to Climate First Bank.
I hope that as we heal our relationship to our plant, we also heal our relationships to each other because one cannot exist without the other. Thank you again to the whole team that brought this journey together. I learned so much and am already working on ways to apply what I've learned and to introduce more people to this opportunity.

The Green Program organized an unbelievable experience in Senegal. From cultural experiences, to local knowledge on sustainability, and how climate finance is crucial for Global South countries to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change. I really appreciated the opportunity to also get to learn all the different ways I can make an impact through climate finance at an individual level. Everyone should experience a Green Program because you also get to meet some of the most special people. My experience deepened my understanding of the climate finance challenges and needs across the Global South, while also grounding those insights in the lived realities of the communities most affected.

TGP is an experience like no other. This program allowed me to learn from industry experts in sustainability. It gave me a motivation to pursue sustainability that I have not received anywhere else in my undergraduate degree. It allowed me to meet people that were like minded and had similar goals, and to work with these same people to develop world changing ideas. It allowed me to focus on sustainability which is an area that does not get too much attention in my field, and in this way it was the perfect supplement to my university's curriculum. The friendships I made will last lifetimes, and the memories I left with are unforgettable. This program allows you to experience, learn, and do things you would have never imagined in a million years.

I now know how I can make an impact with my personal investments. This experience reshaped my relationship with the environment, both personally and professionally. Personally, it reignited my appreciation for the outdoors and reminded me of the clarity and peace it brings. Professionally, it reinforced the importance of designing climate solutions that are not only efficient but also human-centered: solutions that foster a deeper connection between people and the natural world. I left the program not only more aware of the impacts of climate change, but also more committed to preserving and restoring my/our bond with nature.
