Describe your dream job.
My dream job would be working to achieve the impact I wish to leave on the world. I believe that it is our job to care for the environment so I would love to be able to work in a position where I can show that we can use a green mindset while still keeping our everyday conveniences. Electricity can come from wind turbines, reducing waste will reduce landfilling costs, etc.
Why do you believe that you are the next-generation pioneer of your industry?
I believe that I am a next-generation pioneer of my industry because I am willing to take the extra time and energy to find the “greenest” way to complete the task.
Tell us about your leadership experiences.
I have had experience being an exec board member of my professional and social engineering sorority, Alpha Omega Epsilon. In this position, I planned many recruitment events, supervised board officers within the sorority, and served as a liaison between potential new members and the sorority. I also served as Treasurer for my Velocity Dance Team where I organized and lead fundraising events. In my current job as a Process Engineer, I am the champion of various projects and manage my team to keep the project on track.

How has GREEN play a role in shaping your professional endeavors?
To participate on the GREEN Program trip was a big decision that I made myself. I showed me that I can trust myself and my decisions which helps me in my current job. Also working with my team on our capstone project helped me exercise my skills of keeping a group on task. This skill is one that I have used in various projects throughout college as well in my current job.
How do you see your generation having an impact on these global issues?
Reduction of waste. We generate so much waste, I think it is unbelievable. In the manufacturing industry, you do whatever you can to get product out of the door. When you encounter a problem, it can be cheaper to throw out the bad product and throw things in the landfill than doing it another way. Now that I’m in the manufacturing industry, I see that there is so much improvement that can be made in this area.
What is the biggest take-away and/or favorite part of your GREEN program experience?
I got to see global warming first hand on our glacier hike which was astonishing to me. It solidified the importance of having a ‘’green’’ mentality. The GREEN Program showed me that there are so many places in the world that are just waiting to be explored. I want to explore as much as I can.
