My resume won't tell you that my motto is "whatever floats your boat". Despite being driven and hardworking, I think outside the box and I'm not quick to judge.

What is your story? What doesn't your resume tell us about you?

I am a quirky individual. I read about a book a day, I have played the flute religiously for around 12 years, and I love to draw and doodle. I use these rather artistic skills to help me stay well rounded, and I find that these skills help give me a creative edge when I am problem solving. My resume won't tell you that my motto is "whatever floats your boat". Despite being driven and hardworking, I think outside the box and I'm not quick to judge.

Describe your dream job or career.

My dream job is rather vague. I would love to develop products in the biochemical, biological, or chemical fields that have a direct impact on making a better future for people. Whether that's making cost effective medicine or pharmaceuticals, or developing products that are more sustainable and healthy to the user, I'm not entirely positive yet.

What is the biggest take-away and/or favorite part of your GREEN Program experience?

My biggest takeaway is that the business model applies to every field when looking at presenting and utilizing successful solutions. Practicality as well as a drive to see the project to completion are two things I learned through the Capstone Project as well as the adventures I had in Iceland during the Green Program.

Tell us about your Capstone project experience and your journey, your team, the ideation and implementation.

Our team proposed to commercially farm the bacteria Ideonella sakaiensis to revolutionize PET recycling. However, through meticulous research and the limits of the information we could access due to the novelty of the bacteria's discovery led us to believe that as of now, the creation of a large company to implement our idea was not feasible.

Where and When would you go in a time machine? Why?

I would go anywhere in the Ancient World (pre-Dark Ages) because I am a nerd and the stories, myths, and legends from all over the world during this time period fascinate me. From the Greeks to the Egyptians to the Babylonians to the Aztecs, I am fascinated by all kinds of mythology and history about the ancient civilizations that were destroyed by time but still played an important role in shaping the world today.
