"I’m passionate about planning sustainable communities, disaster risk reduction, and clean energy. Our generation can make cities cleaner and ‘smarter’ with better living practices using less energy. "

How do you want to leave your impact on the world?

I want to leave the world a cleaner and more sustainable place, whether that is with more sustainable development through environmental planning, or through more renewable energy. I’m passionate about traveling and volunteering, so would love to make developing countries more sustainable with a better quality of life.

What topic(s) related to sustainable development are you most passionate about?

I’m passionate about planning sustainable communities, disaster risk reduction, and clean energy. Our generation can make cities cleaner and ‘smarter’ with better living practices using less energy. This will happen by having safe and affordable housing for everyone to reduce poverty. Disaster Risk Reduction in our generation will occur when we reduce our hazardous exposure with more sustainable practices. As a result, fewer people will be vulnerable to disasters and will be more prepared. Lastly, clean and sustainable energy will better human quality of life and health, and also ecosystems.  This can help with decreasing poverty in developing countries, more equality, sustainability, and economic growth.

Describe your dream job.

I would love to be an environmental planner that travels and helps developing countries get a better quality of life and a more sustainable community.

Why do you believe that you are the next-generation pioneer of your industry?

With the environmental movement happening today, it would be great to expand sustainability principles to developing countries. This will help reach sustainable development goals as well.

Tell us about your leadership experiences.

At school, I’m in on the public relations committee in my sorority and Sigma Alpha Pi (The National Society of Leadership and Success). Sigma Alpha Pi has taught me to step out of my comfort zone and make an innovative change.

How has GREEN play a role in shaping your professional endeavors?

It’s made me realize how learning is not just in the classroom, but is hands on with life experiences. I learned more about sustainability and renewable energy, which I’m passionate about and made me want to pursue it more in a career.

Tell us about your Capstone Project experience and initiative.

We created a Mini, portable solar grid for African country of Liberia called Mini Grid. This stores energy in a compression tank and gives poorer communities there renewable energy for up to a week.
